In addition to being a great vocalist, instrumentalist (fiddle), and producer, Laurie Lewis is a songwriter of the highest caliber. "Earth and Sky" is a mere sampling of what this amazingly gifted woman can do. She is just as good on-stage as she is in the studio. I highly recommend this CD to ANYone who loves great lyrics and music/5(12).

originally recorded on Laurie Lewis and Grant Street, Singin' My Troubles Away (Flying Fish ) I was sitting on my front porch one January day, feeling the strange sensation of a warm south wind, when the lyrics to this song started to come.

CD Reviews Earth & Sky. All Music Guide/Steven E. McDonald Excerpting Laurie Lewis's trio of albums for Flying Fish, and adding four new cuts, the collection does a good job of tracking her development as a country/bluegrass performer, and her adoption of more open forms that cater to more of a singer/songwriter mode -- the concluding "Magic Light," in fact, is quite haunting.

Her scope may be broad and her styles diverse but Laurie Lewis has a singular, steadfast gift -- songs that abide with us and linger in our hearts. Songs that endure. Songs that last like earth and sky." --Robert K. Oermann, from his liner notes/5(10).

CD Reviews Guest House. Barnes & Noble An acoustic treat, Guest House is furnished with a blend of styles rooted in ancient tones but boasting a contemporary glow in the seasoned hands of bluegrass innovators Laurie Lewis (fiddle, guitars, vocals) and Tom Rozum (vocals, mandolin, mandola, guitar).
